Sunderbruch Speech and Debate Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • Preference for traditional age, high school student intending to enroll at Harper College full-time (minimum of 12 hours per semester) during the next academic year.
  • Interest to participate on the Harper College Forensics team for a minimum of one (1) year.
  • Preference for students demonstrating the following merit and leadership:
    1. Either a 25 ACT score /1660 SAT score OR supported by a letter of recommendation from high school faculty or administration;
    2. Have previous success in forensics at the high school level (with priority given to candidates with experience in limited preparation speaking and/or debate events);
  • Essay on financial need.

If there is not an incoming freshman that applies for the scholarship by July 1, the scholarship may be awarded to an incoming freshman who meets the following:

  • Incoming Liberal Arts student at Harper College
  • Overall Harper GPA of 3.0 or above
